Each year's list is the start-of-year snapshot: every company recognized as a Dividend King entering 2020. The additions and removals above cover everything between the prior year's snapshot and this one.
We count Dividend Kings the inclusive way, in the style of Simply Safe Dividends' "all Kings" list: every company with 50+ consecutive annual dividend increases qualifies, including OTC and foreign listings (like Canadian Utilities and Fortis) and spin-offs that inherited a qualifying streak (like Kenvue from Johnson & Johnson). Narrower editorial lists show smaller counts for the same years — that's a methodology difference, not a disagreement about the companies. New milestones are recognized at our January update.
This is a historical snapshot for reference. Companies listed here may no longer qualify, may have been renamed or acquired, or may have cut their dividends since 2020. See the current list before making investment decisions. This is not investment advice.
